Penjelasannya

Why was a kitchen spice worth a fortune? Because of extreme botanical rarity.

Every single nutmeg on planet Earth grew in only one place: the tiny Banda Islands in eastern Indonesia.

Europeans believed it could ward off the plague, and they would pay almost anything for it.

According to historian Giles Milton, nutmeg bought for pennies in Banda could sell in London at a sixty-thousand-percent markup.

A volcanic speck in the ocean that launched global trade empires, bloody wars, and the birth of modern capitalism.
