ISRO meluncurkan 104 satelit sekaligus: bagaimana caranya?

ISRO 104 satellites in one launch: how did it work?

Bagian tersulitnya justru melepaskan mereka.

Transkrip video (English)

In February 2017, one Indian rocket carried one hundred four satellites into orbit, a world record at the time.

Only three were Indian. Ninety-six came from the United States, and five from other countries.

Most were tiny imaging satellites from the company Planet, each about the size of a shoebox.

All one hundred four together weighed about one thousand three hundred seventy-eight kilograms, roughly one small car.

The hard part was letting them go. The upper stage pushed them out in batches, in different directions and at different speeds.

That way they drift apart, instead of bumping into each other.

Selling spare room on its rockets helps India pay for its own missions.

The record stood for four years, until a SpaceX rocket carried one hundred forty-three.
