Kenapa saham anjlok bersamaan? Panic selling dijelaskan

Why do stock markets crash all at once? Herd mentality

Saat semua orang mengira orang lain tahu sesuatu, mereka ikut menjual. Yang keluar duluan selamat, yang terakhir menanggung rugi.

Sampul short: Why do stock markets crash all at once? Herd mentality

Penjelasannya

Transkrip video (English)

Financial markets are run by brilliant analysts with advanced mathematics degrees. Yet crashes happen with raw animal panic.

Why do thousands of rational investors all stampede for the exit at the exact same second?

Economists call it an Information Cascade: when you assume everyone else knows something you don't.

If you see large funds suddenly selling, the rational move isn't analyzing the data. It's following the herd.

Second is the brutal math of liquidity: in a bank run or market crash, there is never enough cash for everyone.

The first ten percent out the door get one hundred percent of their money. The last person gets zero.

When everyone tries to be smart, nobody survives. In finance, panicking first isn't irrational: it's self-defense.
